// GitHub-native engineering metrics

See where your PRs actually get stuck.

DXLens shows you where your engineering time actually goes. Not per ticket, not per sprint, but across every team and every change: how long work waits for review, where it stalls on the way to production, and whether the number is moving in the right direction. The full picture, on a single dashboard.

What DXLens measures.

Cycle time, review speed, throughput, coverage

How long changes take, how quickly reviews start, how much ships, and how much of it gets reviewed.

// Methodology

Opinionated on purpose.

We track what makes teams faster and skip what makes them defensive.

What we measure

The four things that decide how fast work moves.

  • Cycle time (PR open → merge), as p50 and p90 (the median case and the tail).
  • Time to first review. The number-one predictor of team frustration and Friday-6pm merges.
  • Review load per person. Who’s carrying it, who’s blocked, who’s overloaded.
  • PR size. Big PRs are slow PRs. Sometimes for good reason, mostly not.

Broken down by repo, team and person. Shown as percentiles, because averages lie.

// Team rhythm

Your week, hour by hour.

A weekday × hour heatmap of when your team opens, reviews and merges PRs. It shows what a standup won’t:

  • Friday-afternoon merges (the fragile ones).
  • Late-night activity (an early burnout signal).
  • EU × US overlap windows (collaboration health).
  • Whether “no-meeting Wednesday” survives.

Timezone-aware, per team.

// AI adoption

How much of your PRs AI touches.

Track the share of PRs with AI co-authored commits and AI-tool reviews (Copilot, Claude, Cursor, CodeRabbit) over time, per team, per repo.

How this is measured: we detect commit trailers (Co-authored-by) and known AI reviewer bots. IDE autocomplete isn’t tagged and won’t show, so treat the number as a lower bound and use it for trend direction, not exact adoption levels.
// Alerts & digest

A heads-up before a PR stalls.

  • Oversized PRs. Flag any PR over the line count you set, so it gets split before review.
  • Overdue reviews. Surface PRs waiting longer than your review target, oldest first.
  • Daily digest. Yesterday's throughput, cycle time and review coverage. One glance each morning.

Delivered to Slack or email. You pick the channel and the thresholds.
